Description: The current LCFG boot component uses a traditional rc script style numbering scheme to determine the order in which it starts and stops individual LCFG components; this is difficult and error-prone to configure correctly. This project would involving enhancing/rewriting the boot component to use explicit component dependencies to determine component start order. It may also consider any parallelisation that may be possible.

UPDATE (Oct 2009): RHEL 6 uses "upstart" rather than the traditional
SysV rc script scheme. The LCFG boot component will very likely require
significant reworking to support "upstart".

UPDATE (Feb 2010): F12 uses "upstart" only in a minimal way, calling out to the SysV rc script scheme using upstart "jobs". It should be easy to fit the existing boot component into this mechanism, so this project is deprioritised for F12. It is felt unlikely that RHEL 6 will use "upstart" in any significant way.
