Development of a backup strategy for Informatics
Description: This project will in the first instance produce a suggested strategy for the backing up and archiving of the School's data in a manner which is practicable, given constraints on time and hardware, while meeting the needs of the School's users as closely as possible
Deliverables: In the first place, proposals for a new strategy. Later, implimentation of this strategy.

Case statement: Though we have a new backup system in place, we need to ensue that this is used in the most efficient manner and meets the needs of the School. This project will ensure that this is the case.

- Quantify and categorise disk space currently in use in school
- Obtain figures for rate of data change etc through analysis of backup records
- Obtain figures for number of restore requests and spectrum of age of data through analysis of RT requests.
- Produce proposals for frequency of backup and retention of backup data for consideration by school.
- If proposals accepted, proceed with implimentation.
